We often talk about work-life balance and how each professional tries to strike a perfect harmony between home and office. But what happens when your spouse is also your co-worker? Does sharing a workplace bring you closer or blur the boundaries you work so hard to maintain? Madhurya Varma and Santosh Raju Mungura tell us what happens when the office and the home share the same address.

Madhurya, Senior People Partner Executive, Global Operations, joined CriticalRiver 7 years ago. She met Santosh at an institute where she was learning some technical skills. Santosh later joined CriticalRiver in July 2023 as an Oracle Techno-Functional Consultant.

“Yes, we do fight about office when we are focusing on our priorities. But we try not to let work spill over so much that it affects our personal time. Setting that boundary really helps keep things peaceful,” says Madhurya.

Even as life gives them same experiences, day after day, the couple never stops learning from each other. “One of the biggest teamwork skills I’ve learned from my partner is patience and perspective. I have learnt to pause, understand the other person’s viewpoint, and then respond—not react. This has helped me immensely at work when collaborating with diverse teams or navigating challenging conversations,” stated Madhurya.
