• Cloud computing works as a regular server, and every process that happens is accounted for within the server. Edge computing is linked with the same processing of data but at the endpoint, typically known as ‘edge.’
• Both systems are useful; however, the use of a particular technology is defined by the area of application. One does not disregard the other; neither can they control each other.

Many experts think that Edge computing will ultimately succeed over cloud architectures. However, this is certainly not the case. Edge computing is also another form of cloud computing, but unlike other cloud computing architectures that unify, compute, and store in a single data center.

As we surge into the age of business digitization, edge computing models will become a fundamental component for many IoT initiatives. If properly handled, edge computing will allow specific IoT projects to be delivered at a far cheaper cost than normal cloud methods.

The industry pundits have speculated that edge computing is going to edge out cloud computing. Although the current answer ‘No,’ with the increasing data crunch and adoption of Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing may not be viable forever!
