For many, the most defining moments of their career are when they get a promotion or achieve a milestone. But for Jomarie Cabuello, consultant at CriticalRiver Philippines, the moment he cherishes most in not one of professional triumph – it is a moment when he realized how much his organization values him as an employee.

In 2024, Jomarie was working in CriticalRiver and leading a quiet and fulfilling life with his family in Valenzuela City , Philippines. When he heard of Typhoon Carina, he thought it was just another storm like the many he experienced since childhood. He had no idea that this one would wreak havoc in his life.

The typhoon struck with unbelievable force, ruining buildings, flooding streets, and leaving destruction everywhere.

“My family and I faced one of the most difficult times of our lives when severe flooding hit our home. The damage was overwhelming, and the uncertainty of how we would recover weighed heavily on us,” Jomarie said, recalling the devastation caused by the typhoon.

Then, CriticalRiver did something that he would never forget.

“The office reached out to me and offered assistance. They made sure we had the support we needed,” he said.

As all his belongings were submerged in the flood, the CriticalRiver team raised funds and supported Jomarie in recovering.
