Data exists everywhere across utility operations, in meters, billing systems, SCADA platforms, customer portals, and field management tools. And yet, most utilities still struggle with fragmented intelligence and decisions that move too slowly.
The issue is not a lack of data.
Grid modernization and renewable integration outpacing legacy system capabilities
Customer expectations for real-time, personalized digital engagement are rising
Operational data locked in siloed systems that cannot speak to each other
Workforce knowledge transfer as experienced employees retire
Regulatory and cybersecurity requirements growing in complexity and cost
Financial pressure to reduce operating costs while improving service reliability
Utilities don’t need more reports. They need intelligence embedded directly into how they plan, operate, and serve customers. CriticalRiver’s Operational Intelligence Enablement offering is built to convert fragmented data and disconnected systems into coordinated, decision-grade operational capability.
We combine AI-powered data integration, advanced analytics, strategic business alignment, and targeted system implementation so that core platforms including ERP, CIS, AMI, WAM, GIS, SCADA, OMS, ADMS, DERMS, and digital channels work together to produce measurable outcomes.
Align AI and technology investments to business strategy. Roadmaps, architecture, and business case development grounded in utility operations.
Build the data foundation that makes AI viable. Connect disparate sources into a unified, intelligent data platform, without necessarily replacing existing systems.
AI-enabled portal modernization, CIS optimization, billing experience redesign, and digital channel alignment for the personalized experience customers expect.
SCADA, GIS, OMS, ADMS, and DERMS integration, with AI-driven analytics layered in for a smarter, more resilient grid.
From Oracle platform implementations to data modernization and AI, we help utilities build the systems and intelligence that improve grid reliability, customer engagement, and financial performance.
AI matters most when it helps operations teams, customer teams, and grid managers make better day-to-day decisions. CriticalRiver focuses on practical AI applications that reduce cost, improve reliability, and strengthen the customer relationship, not AI for its own sake.
Helping operations teams anticipate failures and respond faster.
Enabling customer and commercial teams to act on signals sooner.
Reducing unplanned costs and improving field efficiency.
Moving beyond static dashboards toward automated insight and action.
Our AI solutions are designed to integrate with existing utility systems and meet enterprise security and governance requirements.
AI programs built for how utilities actually run: where adoption comes first, and measurable value follows.
Solutions shaped by meter-to-cash cycles, grid complexity, regulatory constraints, and the operational demands of serving critical infrastructure.
Designed for operations, customer service, finance, and engineering teams, not just data scientists.
12 years delivering Oracle Energy and Water solutions across NMS, CCS, OFS, WACS, C2M, CC&B, MDM, AMI, AMS, and beyond, with integration and cloud capabilities built in.
Personalized, hands-on engagement. You work with senior experts, not handed off to junior teams.
Focused on measurable outcomes and adoption from day one. We don’t define success as go-live.
Understand grid performance challenges, customer experience gaps, financial pressures, and regulatory obligations before touching technology.
Align on the operational and commercial outcomes that will define success: reliability, cost-to-serve, customer satisfaction, and revenue integrity.
Develop and integrate AI capabilities and platform enhancements that work within your current systems and workflows, without requiring wholesale replacement.
Deploy solutions with the operations, customer service, finance, and engineering teams who will use them every day.
Refine models, insights, and processes as grid conditions, customer behavior, and regulatory requirements evolve.
Over 12 years, CriticalRiver has served 11 investor-owned and 17 municipal and public utilities, ranging from medium to very large, delivering electricity, natural gas, water, wastewater, and ancillary services. We work closely with Oracle and technology partners to help utilities apply AI and modern platforms in ways that improve operational reliability, customer experience, and financial performance.
01
Customer service teams faced delays coordinating service orders between Oracle CC&B and Mobile Workforce Management systems across regions.
Integrated CC&B and MWM to automate service order dispatch, scheduling, and field technician routing workflows.
02
Legacy CC&B systems created data inconsistencies and manual processes that slowed customer-to-meter operations and reporting.
Structured data migration and validation framework to convert CC&B data into Oracle C2M.
The utilities that succeed will be those that turn meter data, grid signals, customer behavior, and operational events into faster, smarter decisions. We help electric, water, and gas utilities embed intelligence across operations, customer experience, and financial performance, turning data into measurable business outcomes.
